Over the years, Guadalajara Bakery became known as the neighborhood’s cozy morning stop. We specialize in hearty breakfast sandwiches, rich coffee, and handmade pastries just like the ones our parents learned to bake back home. Every morning, the display cases brim with colorful pastries – from flaky empanadas to cinnamon-scented conchas – all baked from scratch. And if you walk in around breakfast time, you’ll likely see a line of locals eager for our famous egg-and-cheese tortas (our take on the breakfast sandwich) made fresh to order. The menu may have grown with a few new treats over time, but it’s still grounded in the same authentic flavors and homemade goodness that we’ve had since day one.

Being a small family business for over three decades means we’ve formed bonds that go far beyond customer and cashier. We’re blessed with loyal, caring customers who have become an extended part of the Perez family. Some of our regulars have been visiting since the ’80s – we’ve watched their children grow up, and now we see those kids coming in with little ones of their own. It’s not uncommon to hear laughter and friendly hellos when neighbors bump into each other at the bakery. Hermosa is our home, and every person who steps into our shop adds to that sense of community. Over the years, we’ve celebrated weddings, birthdays, and graduations with our patrons (with our cakes and cookies often at the center of those celebrations), and we’ve weathered challenges side by side. The outpouring of support from this community – whether it’s a smile, a story shared over the counter, or a helping hand during tough times – is a big part of what makes our bakery special. Today, the second generation of the Perez family continues the mission that started with our parents’ vision. You’ll still find us arriving early each morning, rolling out dough and brewing the first pot of coffee with the same care we learned from Mom and Dad. The original sign still hangs proudly outside 4014 W. Armitage Ave., and inside you’ll find the same inviting warmth that greeted visitors in 1984. We take immense pride in our roots and in carrying forward a tradition of quality, honesty, and heartfelt service.
